People making enquiries ask us many questions from time to time. We will endeavour to answer some of them on this page.

What is our mission?
To provide accessible and affordable learning facilities with a broad range of educational, cultural, physical and social opportunities appropriate to the needs of people in complete or partial retirement living in Waverley and nearby areas, in a social and friendly atmosphere, without discrimination or bias.

What is our Vision?
To provide a social and friendly environment to all persons in complete or partial retirement, regardless of age, race, religion or gender to enhance their knowledge and skills.

What is our relationship to 'St Stephen's Church'?
U3A Waverley have been fortunate to acquire a Lease of some of 'St Stephen's Church' facilities for which we are most grateful. Because we share these facilities we have empathy with each other.

Does U3A Waverley have off-street parking?
Yes, we share the church car park.

Does U3A only allow members from the Monash area?
No, members are welcome from any area.

What happens if I join and I find it is not what I want?
You can come along and sit in a class once, to see if it meets your needs. If you join and find after a few classes it is not what you wanted, that is fine - just let the office know and you can perhaps join another class. It is up to you to find what you require.

How many members does U3A Waverley have?
We average from 450 to 500 yearly.

Does U3A give any accreditations?
No.

Does U3A Waverley have a Privacy Statement?
U3A Waverley collects from Members on enrolment only that personal information which is necessary for its effective operation and enables a Member to be identified and contacted.
In respect of each Member, this information includes,

    * Name, address, telephone number, email address, emergency contact details, and demographic information.
    * Details of Membership of another U3A Campus.
    * Interest, skills and work experience.
    * Details of the assistance a Member can offer to the operation of U3A Waverley.


Members' enrolment forms are kept securely in the Secretary's files and the information is maintained on a computerised data base. This information is only available to the Executive of U3A Waverley Inc. and access to it by unauthorised persons is prevented.

Tutors and Office Staff are provided with a listing of members attending courses showing each Member's name and phone number. Records of Members' class attendance are maintained and these records are available only to Tutors and Office Staff as required.

Members may inspect the information held on them as individuals and may ask for it to be updated or added to.

Personal information no longer required or relevant is removed and destroyed.

Members may inspect a listing of Members, which shows only Members' names.

U3A Waverley is not providing information about Members to outside bodies and will only do so if required by law.
