20/8/2009 - I was travelling up to Brsibane just recently for work, and happened to bump into an old friend.... GRANT COLLINS!

18/8/09 - My dear old mates from Hippocrene have asked me to help them record a song for a freind of theirs... we'll be doing this track in one day but it will be a load of fun! We even get to rehearse it early September... really looking forward to it.... I'll load up a picture of the set up as soon as I can!

4/8/2009 - Caught up with Mark & Eva (drums & bass) from the PINK band, with some of the crew from Billy Hyde's Adelaide. Great night, great food, great stories!

1/8/2009 - Had some fill in gigs this week for Enuf Said, with Adrian Bygraves (I was filling in for Dave Richman), playing guitar and singing (my other pass time!!). here's a couple of shots from those shows....

21/7/09 - Just returned home from the Drumscene Live 2009 show in Adelaide, with Dom Famularo, Thomas Prigden & Virgil Donati. It was a full house at The Gov.... awesome show!

12/7/09 - There's a good chance I will be preforming at a Zildjian night in Adelaide in September.... waiting for dates to be confirmed but will hopefully know soon! Stay tuned....

1/7/09 - I've just recently been in the studio, recording 4 tracks for 90's Aussie Rock outfit Medicine Man. There was some hard hitting and some very worn out snare drums (we managed to crack a crash cymbal, just in the rehearsals for it!) but so far the drum tracks have come up a treat and since then, the bass tracks and rhythm guitar tracks are done. Will keep you informed of more soon.... Check out the gear page for some pictures!

12/6/09 - Drum Scene Live tour has been announced and Virgil Donati will be travelling with Thomas Prigden and Dom Famularo. They will be in Adelaide on the 21st of July.... woo hoo!!

21/05/09 - I've just been given some fill in dates for Enuff Said. I'll be singing and playing guitar at the end of July/early August for 3 shows in one week!

29/9/08 - David Jones has just anounced he's moved to DW & PDP drums & hardware.... and he's heading to Adelaide for a clinic in November 2008. Check out www.billyhydemusic.com.au for more details.

July 2008 - I had the opportunity to see and hear Cindy Blackman (Lenny Kravitz Drummer) last night..... AWESOME! What an incredible woman. Not only a fine musician but a really nice person with a caring heart.... I must say she is one of the nicest international stars I've met

29/01/2006 - I've spent the past two weeks in the USA, mostly for a holiday but I did get a chance to attend the 2006 NAMM show and holy cow.... what a SHOW! Pearl have released a new range of snare drums that are stunning.... Zildjian have a new range of entry level cymbals which sounded awesome....Vic Firth have some very cool new multi rods.....there was just so much happening there. I've also picked up a new tattoo whist in Hawaii so I'll get a pic of it up soon as I get a chance. I also had the chance to see Joe Satriani play live (pic below) and all up had an amazing time.

5/01/2006 - HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!! I'm off to the US in a couple of weeks to check out the latest and greatest in the Musical Instrument industry... going to a show called NAMM, so there'll be a load of new pics coming soon.

18/11/05 - The past few day's have been busy and incredible all at once. First I had a day working with Michael barker from the John Butler Trio. MB did a clinic here in Adelaide and was just incredible to watch and listen to (his solo that he did in the song Zebra is SO COOL!). The next night I then get to attend a 2.5 hour master class with the one and only Kenny Aronoff..... WOOOWWWWW!!!! I thought I hit hard... this guy is a monster!!!! Kenny really broke it down to the basics... also very cool too!! JK :-)

6/11/05 - It's now official.... I have just joined Australian Metal Band 1313. Over the next few months I'll be working with Dave & Ty on getting their current tracks down and writing some new stuff, so keep an eye out for more on this soon - JK :-)

28/09/05 - Just got back, last night, from doing a Zildjian Night in the Barossa Valley, South Australia..... wow! what a great area and an even greater store. Thanks to Pete,Cath & Simon for a great night, I really enjoyed doing the presentation for everyone. JK;-)

15/09/05 - Well, it looks like Matt will be heading interstate for work commitments so he's put his project on hold until he moves... but as one door closes, another always opens!! I've just started working on tracks with a new band called 1313..... lot's heavier than i've done before... and it ROCKS!!! Keep your ears open for more about this soon..... JK:-)

23/08/05 - Only a couple of days to the Murray Bridge Clinic and I'm really looking forward to it. A lot of exciting things happening at the moment, including that I've just started working with Singer/song writer Matt Dawkins on his solo project. Really enjoying it and looking forward to doing some shows soon. Also some other projects in the pipeline which I'll keep you informed about as they come up. Peace out! - JK

01/08/05 - This year is moving so quickly!! We're now into August and so much has happen this year. I have a special one off clinic happening in Murray Bridge this month, so for anyone living in South Australia, it's your chance to get along and see the new set up (I've added a few new toys to the clinic rig!). Once the show has happen I'll up date the gear page so you can see the new stuff. Also, make sure you check out Zildjian.com and become a Z Club member... the "design your set up" page is awesome. 08/06/05 - Hey there everyone.... sorry of the big break in keeping you up to speed with JK life!! I've just recently come back from Sydney where I MC'd the Australian Drum Festival 2005.... WOW!!!! With artists such as Omar Hakim (David Bowie, Madonna), Michael Barker (John Butler Trio), The Drumbassadors, Karl Lewis, Grant Collins, Alejandro Vega and so many other great drummers it was a true honor to be involved. Then........ last weekend (4th/5th) I performed workshops for Pearl/Zildjian/LP at the Australian Ultimate Drummers Festival 2005 in Melbourne.... again - WOW!!! Virgil Donati & Band, Will Kennedy, Mike Mangini and loads of other awesome players performed... it was incredible! If you check out the gear page, you'll see the "mini" set up I used for the work shops. I have more clinics and workshops coming up soon so I'll keep you informed when details are confirmed - Rock on!! JK :-)
