Some years ago I saw an interview on TV with Andres Segovia. (If you don't know who he was, shame on you!) Something he said has stuck with me. I have since discovered that he was quoting Spanish writer, Eugenio d'Ors (1882 - 1954) who wrote, “La canción del piano - es un discurso, la canción del ‘cello - es una elegía, la canción de la guitarra - es una canción.”
